Meet Sunshine Sam’s Artist-in-Residence, Jamie Menake!
Jamie is a New Jersey native, currently living and working in Bloomfield, NJ. She received her Master’s Degree in Creative Arts Education from Rutgers University in 1998. She paints in both watercolor and acrylic, as well as creates jewelry from fine silver clay. Her jewelry is a form of wearable sculpture and has been published by a national jewelry catalogue. She has exhibited her painted work at the Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield, NJ and the Verona Library Art Gallery. Jamie is also a K-8 certified NJ teacher. Her two children, ages 11 and 7, have enjoyed crafting with her for their entire lives.
P.S. She also makes the most beautiful Harry Potter wands! We are in awe of Jamie’s talent and very lucky to have her at Sunshine Sam as we grow our Crafternoon and Make & Take Programs.
